How Korean set codes work

Two prefixes cover almost everything currently in print. sv marks the Scarlet & Violet era, running from sv1S Scarlet ex through sv11W White Flare. M marks the Mega Evolution era that began in 2025, from M1L Mega Brave through M6 Storm Emeralda.

A letter after the number tells you the variant. An "a" means an enhanced expansion or a High Class Pack — sv2a Pokémon Card 151, sv4a Shiny Treasure ex, M2a MEGA Dream ex. Paired releases carry two letters instead: sv4K Ancient Roar and sv4M Future Flash came out on the same day, as did sv11B Black Bolt and sv11W White Flare.

What is actually inside a Korean box

Most Korean expansion boxes hold 30 packs of 5 cards, or 150 cards in total. Three groups break that pattern, and they are the ones worth checking before you compare prices.

A US English booster box holds 36 packs of 10 cards — 360 cards — so box prices are not comparable across regions without checking the pack count first. Every listing on this page states its exact configuration.

Release timing

Korean sets follow the Japanese release by roughly three to eight weeks. Early Scarlet & Violet sets lagged about two months; by the M series the gap had narrowed, with M6 Storm Emeralda arriving in Korea three weeks after Japan. That gap is why Korean print runs are often still in stock after the Japanese equivalent has sold through.
